2. Educational Support and Role of jesi AI
jesi AI is an educational support platform.
It is designed to assist, and not replace, teachers, schools, parents, educational institutions or professional educational judgment.
Artificial intelligence systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or inappropriate information.
Accordingly:
- jesi AI does not guarantee that AI-generated content is accurate, complete or suitable for every educational purpose;
- teachers are responsible for reviewing AI-generated lesson plans, assessments, marking schemes and other educational content before using or distributing them;
- learners should verify important information and should seek assistance from their teachers where appropriate;
- AI-generated content should not be treated as professional, legal, medical or other specialist advice; and
- jesi AI does not guarantee any particular examination result, grade, admission, academic performance or educational outcome.
Users remain responsible for determining whether an AI-generated output is appropriate for their intended use.
3. Eligibility and Age Requirements
Users who are 18 years of age or older may create and operate their own jesi AI accounts and agree to these Terms directly.
jesi AI also provides Services to learners who may be below 18 years.
A learner below 18 may use jesi AI where appropriate authorisation or consent has been provided by:
- a parent or legal guardian; or
- an authorised educational institution where the institution is legally permitted to provide or facilitate such access.
Learners below 18 must not create an independent account without the required parent or guardian authorisation.
jesi AI may request a learner's date of birth during registration to determine their age and the appropriate account or consent process.
Where a school creates or provides an account to a learner, the learner may access jesi through that institution subject to these Terms and any applicable institutional arrangements.
Parents, guardians and schools authorising a minor's use of jesi AI are responsible for appropriately supervising that use.
jesi AI may restrict or terminate an account where we reasonably believe that the applicable age or authorisation requirements have not been satisfied.
4. User Accounts
Certain Services require a jesi account.
When creating or using an account, you agree to:
- provide accurate and current information;
- maintain the accuracy of your account information;
- maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- not share your account with another person;
- promptly notify jesi if you suspect unauthorised access; and
- accept responsibility for activities conducted through your account to the extent permitted by law.
Each individual account is intended for the person to whom it is assigned.
You must not sell, transfer, rent or otherwise provide your account to another person without jesi's written permission.
jesi may require reasonable verification of an account holder's identity or authority where necessary to protect users, institutions or the Services.
5. Classrooms and School Accounts
Teachers may create and manage virtual classrooms through jesi.
Learners may join classrooms using classroom codes or other mechanisms provided through the platform.
Subject to the relevant institutional arrangements:
- teachers may add or remove learners from classrooms;
- schools may create accounts for learners;
- authorised school administrators may manage or deactivate teacher and learner accounts; and
- schools and authorised teachers may access appropriate learning, assessment, engagement and performance information concerning learners under their responsibility.
A school or teacher must only create accounts, provide learner information or access learner information where they have the appropriate authority and lawful basis to do so.
Institutional customers may be subject to additional contractual terms, including an Institutional Subscription Agreement and/or Data Processing Agreement.
Where an institutional agreement conflicts with these Terms regarding the institution's use of jesi, the institutional agreement will prevail to the extent of the conflict.
6. Independent Teacher and Learners Accounts
Teachers and eligible learners (18+) may also register independently, without an initiating school. An independently-created account may operate without an institutional affiliation unless and until it is linked to a school through mechanisms provided on the platform. Independent account holders remain subject to these Terms in full, including Section 3 (Eligibility), Section 9 (Acceptable Use), and Section 16 (Privacy and Personal Data).
7. User Content
Users may submit prompts, lesson materials, assignments, examination content, learner responses, classroom information, and other educational materials ("User Content"). You retain ownership of intellectual property rights you lawfully hold in your original User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant jesi a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, and analyse it to provide the Services, generate AI outputs, operate classrooms, provide insights, maintain security, and improve the Services, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit User Content.
8. Use of User Content for AI Training
jesi does not currently use identifiable student educational records, private classroom content, learner responses or uploaded educational documents to train or fine-tune general-purpose AI models.
For clarity, using information to operate, secure, evaluate or improve the Services does not mean that jesi uses identifiable student educational records, private classroom content, learner responses or uploaded educational documents to train or fine-tune general-purpose AI models.
Where jesi proposes to materially change how personal or educational information is used for AI training or model development, it will do so only in accordance with applicable law and, where required, appropriate consent, notice or institutional authorisation.
jesi may use aggregated or appropriately anonymised information to understand and improve the performance and use of the Services where permitted by law.
9. Third-Party Artificial Intelligence and Technology Services
jesi AI may rely on third-party technology providers to deliver parts of the Services, including AI models and APIs, cloud hosting, database and authentication services, payment processing, analytics, email, and SMS/messaging providers. Personal information processed through third-party service providers is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law.
Where jesi AI participates in a funded programme, fellowship, research project, or partnership that requires reporting, research, or evaluation data to be shared with a funder, independent evaluator, researcher, or research partner, jesi will only share personal data for that purpose where it has a documented lawful basis to do so.
Where reasonably possible, jesi will use anonymised or de-identified data and will share only the minimum data necessary for the relevant purpose. Any such sharing will be described in the Privacy Policy or, where required by applicable law, communicated through a separate notice.
10. The AI Chatbot — Ask Jesi
Ask Jesi is an AI-assisted tutoring and support feature. It is an educational support tool and is not a substitute for a counsellor, teacher, or parent.
Use of Ask Jesi is governed by these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and Jesi's AI Chatbot & Learner Safety Policy, which describes how conversations that raise a safeguarding concern (such as signs of distress or risk of harm to a learner) are reviewed and, where appropriate, shared with the learner's school.
11. Acceptable Use
You must use jesi AI lawfully, responsibly and consistently with its educational purpose.
You must not use the Services to:
- engage in unlawful activities;
- hack, interfere with or gain unauthorised access to the Services or another user's account;
- circumvent security mechanisms, usage restrictions or AI safeguards;
- scrape, crawl or systematically extract jesi content or data without authorisation;
- reverse engineer jesi software, systems or models except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- sell, transfer or share accounts without authorisation;
- impersonate another person or organisation;
- upload malware, malicious code or other harmful technology;
- bully, harass, threaten, exploit or harm another person;
- generate, upload or distribute unlawful or seriously harmful content;
- infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy rights or other intellectual property or legal rights;
- facilitate examination malpractice or academic dishonesty;
- upload confidential examination materials without authority;
- misrepresent AI-generated work as your own where doing so violates applicable academic rules;
- abuse platform resources using bots, automated scripts or similar mechanisms;
- commercially resell the Services without jesi's written permission;
- attempt to obtain information concerning another learner or user without authority; or
- use jesi in any manner reasonably likely to harm learners, teachers, schools, jesi or the integrity of the Services.
12. Academic Integrity
jesi AI is intended to support learning, not replace genuine student effort.
Learners are responsible for complying with their school's academic integrity, examination and assessment rules.
Teachers and institutions remain responsible for determining whether and how AI-assisted content may be used in assignments and assessments.
jesi AI may restrict accounts or functionality where the Services are being intentionally used for serious examination malpractice, fraud or other abusive activity.
13. Intellectual Property Rights
Except for User Content and third-party materials, jesi and/or its licensors own all rights and interests in the Services, including its:
- software and source code;
- platform architecture;
- proprietary algorithms and models;
- trademarks and branding;
- interfaces and designs;
- proprietary educational tools;
- database structures;
- documentation;
- platform content; and
- other proprietary technology and intellectual property.
Your subscription or account provides you with a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
It does not transfer ownership of jesi's intellectual property to you.
"jesi", "jesi AI", associated logos and other jesi branding may not be commercially used without prior written permission.
14. Subscriptions and Payments
jesi AI operates a freemium model and may offer free and paid subscription plans to teachers, learners and educational institutions.
Current subscription options and prices will be displayed through the relevant jesi platform before purchase.
Paid plans may provide access to additional features, higher AI usage limits, additional tokens or other benefits.
Prices may vary according to the selected plan, billing period, account type or institutional arrangement.
jesi may change subscription pricing prospectively. Any material pricing change affecting an existing recurring subscription will be communicated before it takes effect where required by applicable law.
Payments are processed through jesi's authorised payment service provider.
Users are responsible for applicable charges disclosed before completing a purchase.
15. Private Classes and Teacher Marketplace Payments
jesi AI may allow teachers to offer paid Private Classes to students directly through the platform.
Where a student or parent/guardian pays for a Private Class: payment is processed through Jesi's authorised payment service provider; jesi retains a platform fee and remits the balance to the teacher via the teacher's registered payout method (for example, Mobile Money); teachers are responsible for the accuracy of their own payout details and for any tax or regulatory obligations arising from income earned through Private Classes; and jesi is not a party to the underlying educational arrangement between a teacher and a paying student/parent beyond facilitating payment and platform access.
Where the paying party is a parent/guardian acting for a learner under 18, the same eligibility and consent requirements in Section 3 apply to the underlying learner account.
16. AI Tokens and Usage Limits
Certain jesi plans may include AI tokens, credits or other usage limits.
The quantity and applicable usage period will be displayed as part of the relevant subscription plan.
Unless otherwise expressly stated for a particular plan, unused tokens or credits expire at the end of their applicable subscription or usage period and do not roll over.
Tokens and credits have no independent cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
17. Cancellation
Users may cancel a paid jesi subscription at any time through the mechanisms provided by jesi.
Cancellation prevents future charges where applicable but does not automatically entitle the user to a refund for a subscription period already purchased or used.
Access to paid features may continue until the end of the period already paid for, depending on the applicable subscription plan.
18. Refunds
Except where otherwise required by applicable law, payments properly made for jesi subscriptions are non-refundable once the applicable paid service has been supplied or made available, subject to any mandatory cancellation, reversal, refund or consumer rights available under Ghanaian law.
Where a payment fails, is duplicated, is incorrectly processed, or a paid service is not supplied as agreed, jesi may investigate the transaction and make an appropriate correction, reversal or refund.
Nothing in this clause excludes a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
19. Privacy and Personal Data
Your use of jesi is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
Depending on how you use the Services, jesi may process information including:
- names;
- email addresses;
- telephone numbers;
- date of birth or age information;
- school or institution;
- account type;
- class or grade;
- subjects;
- learning activities;
- assessment and quiz performance;
- learning progress;
- classroom participation;
- learning history;
- AI interactions;
- assignments and responses;
- performance insights;
- device and browser information;
- login activity;
- IP addresses; and
- usage information.
jesi will process personal information in accordance with applicable Ghanaian data protection law, including the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Additional data protection terms may apply where jesi provides Services through an educational institution.
20. Children's and Learners' Data
jesi recognises that learner information, particularly information concerning children, requires appropriate protection.
jesi will implement reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures to protect learner information in accordance with applicable law.
Schools, teachers, parents and guardians must not provide personal information about a child to jesi unless they have appropriate authority and a lawful basis to do so.
Access to learner information through school or classroom functionality must be limited to authorised persons with a legitimate educational or administrative purpose.
Further information concerning children's data is provided in jesi's Privacy Policy and, where applicable, its Child/Learner Privacy Notice.
21. Security
jesi takes reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information processed through the Services.
However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
Users must take reasonable steps to protect their own accounts, including maintaining secure passwords and promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access.
If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact jesi promptly at jesiedtech@gmail.com.
22. Service Availability and Changes
jesi aims to provide reliable Services but does not guarantee uninterrupted, continuous or error-free availability.
Services may temporarily be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
- software updates;
- infrastructure failures;
- third-party service interruptions;
- internet or telecommunications failures;
- security incidents;
- events outside jesi's reasonable control; or
- other operational requirements.
jesi may update, modify, replace or discontinue features as the platform develops.
Where a material change significantly affects a paid service, jesi will provide reasonable notice where practicable and required by law.
23. Suspension and Termination
jesi may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:
- a material violation of these Terms;
- unlawful activity;
- fraud or attempted fraud;
- serious academic misconduct;
- security threats;
- abusive behaviour;
- unauthorised access;
- non-payment;
- infringement of another person's rights; or
- conduct that creates a material risk to jesi, users or educational institutions.
Where reasonably practicable, jesi may provide notice and an opportunity to remedy a breach.
jesi may act immediately without prior notice where necessary to address serious security, child-safety, fraud, legal or other urgent risks.
Users may independently delete their accounts using available account functionality or by contacting jesi.
Deletion and retention of personal information following termination will be governed by jesi's Privacy Policy, applicable law and any applicable institutional agreement.
24. Third-Party Services
Certain functionality may depend on third-party platforms and service providers.
jesi is not responsible for independent services provided directly by third parties outside jesi's reasonable control.
Where you separately access or use a third party's service, that third party's terms and privacy practices may apply.
Nothing in this clause limits jesi's responsibilities for third-party processing where jesi remains legally responsible under applicable law.
25. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
jesi provides its Services on an "as available" basis.
jesi does not warrant that:
- the Services will always be uninterrupted or error-free;
- every AI output will be accurate;
- every educational resource will be suitable for every learner;
- the Services will meet every user's particular requirements; or
- use of jesi will produce any specific educational or academic outcome.
These disclaimers do not exclude warranties, statutory protections or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
26. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, jesi will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses arising solely from use of or inability to use the Services where such liability may lawfully be limited.
For paid individual subscriptions, where liability may lawfully be limited, jesi's aggregate contractual liability arising directly from the affected paid Service will ordinarily not exceed the amount paid by the user to jesi for that Service during the six months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or other liability that applicable law requires jesi to bear.
Institutional customers may be subject to separate liability arrangements under their institutional agreements.
27. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, a user who uses jesi for commercial or institutional purposes agrees to indemnify jesi against reasonable losses, liabilities and third-party claims arising directly from that user's:
- unlawful use of the Services;
- intentional infringement of another person's intellectual property rights;
- unauthorised submission or disclosure of personal information; or
- material breach of these Terms.
This clause does not apply to the extent a loss was caused by jesi's own breach, negligence or unlawful conduct.
28. Changes to These Terms
jesi may update these Terms to reflect:
- changes to the Services;
- new functionality;
- changes to our business;
- security requirements; or
- changes in applicable law or regulation.
The date at the top of these Terms will indicate when they were last updated.
Where a change materially affects users' rights or obligations, jesi will provide reasonable notice through the platform, email or another appropriate channel.
Where legally required, jesi may request renewed acceptance of the updated Terms.
Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
29. Electronic Communications
By using jesi, you consent to receiving service-related communications electronically, including account notices, security notifications, subscription information, changes to these Terms and other transactional communications.
Marketing communications will be managed separately in accordance with applicable law and the preferences made available to users.
Users should maintain an accurate email address and other contact information associated with their accounts.

31. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights. Where a dispute arises, the parties should first attempt good-faith resolution through written discussion, with the option of agreed mediation. If unresolved, either party may refer the matter to a court of competent jurisdiction in Ghana. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interim relief where necessary.
32. Dispute Resolution
Where a dispute arises, the parties should first attempt to resolve it through good-faith discussions.
A party should provide reasonable written details of the dispute to the other party and allow a reasonable opportunity for resolution.
Where appropriate and agreed by the parties, an unresolved dispute may be referred to mediation.
If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation or agreed mediation, either party may refer the matter to a court of competent jurisdiction in the Republic of Ghana.
Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interim or protective relief from a competent court where necessary.
33. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly applicable to a particular Service, constitute the agreement governing an individual user's use of jesi.
Institutional customers may be subject to additional written agreements.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
No Waiver
Failure by jesi to enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.
Assignment
Users may not transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms without jesi's prior written consent.
jesi may transfer its rights and obligations as part of a lawful restructuring, merger, acquisition or transfer of the business, subject to applicable law.
